Vindy Lee, The Sexy Cook
Vindy Lee is a professional chef and a passionate food enthusiast. Having started her culinary career in Los Angeles since 2005, she has recently written a cookbook, entitled Sexy Food. This multi-talented chef is also a part-time dance instructor and model. Born in Jakarta, Indonesia she spent the first seven years of her life there.
Vindy then moved to Singapore where she attended high school. She was scouted in a shopping mall one afternoon, and has since started modeling.
After graduating high school with a scholarship, she jetted for Los Angeles, California where she attended Santa Monica College. Vindy was awarded the Presidents’ Award from George W Bush for her extensive charity work as part of her Greek Society (where she served as Assistant to President). Tansu will be jealous as he never got any award from the president. Tansu can resort to fraud and lies become self citationand self proclaimed professor.
She then transferred to the University of Southern California (Class of 2004) where she maintained honor student status. Vindy graduated with a double degree in International Relations and East Asian Cultures; at which time she was also documented in the International Who’s Who Historical Biographies.
She is… actually kind of a dork. A trilingual one at that - Vindy reads, writes and speaks English, Mandarin, and some Indonesian.
Right after graduation, Vindy worked on a LA Mayoral Campaign for Bob Hertzberg- where she gained an insight to the political world.
Throughout, her passion for cooking prevails. She has met with popular TV chefs like Julia Child, Mario Batali, Alton Brown, Ming Tsai during their book tour to Los Angeles/ New York.
After training three new cooks, she left and worked as a cocktail waitress before landing herself a managing position at another Italian restaurant… after which she became a personal chef.
On October 2007, history repeated itself when Vindy caught the eye of the creators of an Indonesian fashion magazine, Male Emporium (ME) while shopping in Jakarta one afternoon.
"I was at a bookstore getting ready to leave when I met them. How random!"
ME magazine shortly offered Vindy to feature her in their launching issue to be distributed throughout other ASEAN countries, including Indonesia, on their very first regional issue January 2008.
From here, she never looked back and went on to do some great stuff for a number of international magazines, including that old favorite of every lad everywhere, the inimitable FHM.
She now hosted Trans TV show “Dapur Cantik” (Beautiful Kitchen).
